There's a deep God-given need in a man to get out, get away from everything that's artificial and tame and suburban. I love to rock climb and mountain bike; I love jumping off stuff. I also love to snowshoe, sea kayak, and photograph grizzlies," he says.
He holds a bachelor's degree in theater from California Polytechnic University, and a master's degree in biblical counseling from Colorado Christian University. His bestselling books include: Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secrets of a Man's Soul; The Wild at Heart Field Manual; The Sacred Romance (co-authored by Brent Curtis); and The Journey of Desire.
John and his wife, Stasi, and sons Samuel, Blaine and Luke, live in Colorado Springs.
