Blogging SED

No, SED isn't some nasty medical condition acquired through too much blogging. It's an announcement that I intend to blog Something Every Day. Although I feel like A.A. Milne using capitals in that way...

At the same time I'm reticent to begin blogging SED. In the past I've been unsure of whether I have anything of value to say. Now, however, I'm absolutely certain I've got nothing valuable to say. But I have many friends who do have many good things to say: other bloggers, friends of mine, and published teachers in the body of Christ. If I can be a conduit to pass along their valuable thoughts and opinions, that's good enough for me. Besides, the Holy Spirit has something to teach us every single day through the Word of God, and I'm liable to share some/much of that here as well. So it turns out there is plenty to say.

Here's my prayer as I embark upon blogging SED: that I may boast only in the Cross of Christ my Lord, and never in myself (Galatians 6:4). Here is an article by Redeemer's Lucas Knisely for your edification that I hope will serve you in observing your heart during your own blogging endeavours. And even if you don't blog, it's still applicable!

Also, here is advance warning that in the interests of personal humility, accountability, and sharpening, I will be launching a Facebook fan page for Discerning Reader this month. More on that later.

From all of us at DR, blessings on your 2011!
